I'm having a problem with downloading data. It takes up to a day each time I start the application. I understand files are supposed to be compressed. Is it normal for one file, CHFJPY.scid to be 1.33GB in size? How do I know if the files are compressed?

Your Internet connection must be very very very slow. Never in the history of Sierra Chart has anyone ever claimed, that data downloading takes a day. This is simply not even believable.

Yes 1.33 GB is normal. NTFS file compression is used and can be checked through the operating system file explorer.

My internet connection download speed is 50 Mbps. I updated SC to v1997 from v1967 which seems to have fixed (or helped) with the download size of the files and the speed of download. I tested my SSD drive and there are no issues with it. I tried to run SC on a non-SSD drive but I couldn't get SC to work. The HD was overloaded, maybe because I have six instances open with 200+ charts.

The 'Compress contents to save disk space' option is already checked on the .scid files so I guess they are compressed.

Anyway, seems better now, thanks.

There is absolutely no difference with the speed of market data downloading between Sierra Chart versions. If there is any difference, it is due to something external. Not Sierra Chart.
