Hello SC,

there is an annoying issue with IB and Orders once a shut down Sierra and Reopen it..

As you can see in the attached Screenshot, the attached OCO orders are gone and not visible on the chart anymore.

you see that "Chart Trade Mode" is enabled as it shows the position and you see that there are orders as they are visible in the "Trade Orders" window. however, for some mysterious reason they are gone from the chart and wont show up anymore..

This makes it VERY annoying to handle scale outs or order modifications.

please advise.

thanks,
Andreas

This does not make sense because the orders will be present in the order list, when Sierra Chart is exited and the Symbol will be as it originally was. The problem relates to the symbol. It does not match the chart exactly. One simple solution is just use the symbol as you see it listed in the Trade Orders window. You really should not use simple stock symbols without a proper security type and exchange.

When you start Sierra Chart up and before it connects to Trader Workstation, do you see the orders in Trade >> Trade Orders Window?

yes they are there.. and unchanged after i connect to TWS...

there are some without the STK-SMART suffix too.. i figured out that if i add that suffix, the orders are there.

HOWEVER

see attached screenshot

i have analyzed like 700 stocks and have support/resistance zones drawn for 3 timeframes.. thats ~2100 analyses i would need to redo if i would add this suffix to my watchlist items as all the drawings would be gone.. i cant do that...

would it be possible to add a setting, kinda like a "default suffix for stocks" or something into the IB data feed setting? that way, if no suffix is set via the symbol, it matches orders to the proper stock symbol..

this kind of mapping also helps if one would change the data feed because no "proper datafeed" has those suffixes anyway..

thanks,
Andreas

It is a user discussion unless you are willing to pay for the support request . It is chargeable no matter what the outcome is, even if the outcome is not what you want.

so, asking for an enhancement is a chargeable support request now?
