in v1996, when you save a study collection, IDs of the studies gets renumbered in a sequential manner.

I saw nothing about this in the "what's new" page.

I use Study Price Overlays extensively, and been doing changes to the study collections for hours, and now several chartbooks are a total mess.

Is there an option to keep the previous way of numbering the IDs?

I went back to v1991.

Thank you.

We have to look into that. That should not happen.

Same thing happens when loading a study collection. Everything is renumbered sequentially

This issue is now resolved in version 1997. It related to a performance optimization for finding studies by ID. This has been disabled until we have a completely secure implementation.

Optionally renumbering ID numbers would be a good thing if the procedure tracks down all the other studies in all charts in the chartbook and changes the settings to the new numbers. I realize this may never happen, but I just want to throw the idea out there.

Another Idea: When adding a study collection, have it keep its set of ID numbers and automatically renumber (and updates links to other studies) any existing IDs that are already in use.
