Do both the Primary instance connected to the SC Feed, and the sub instances need to have the intraday file update lists set?

Will all instances continue making independent duplicates of all the data file downloads needed?

There is no need to use the Intraday File Update List, unless there is a special reason to do so. In which case you would want to use it in all instances.

It speeds up loading a chart when switching symbols as the data is already always downloaded, is that correct? And if looking at charts in sub instance, need it updating the list in both primary and sub?

From my user experience, if you add the switch |MDD after the symbol in the IFUL, it automatically starts and keeps the Market Depth Data loaded as well.

This feature was enabled in SC over 5 years ago, according to the post from SC Engineering linked here: DTC client implementation in C#-some pointers needed | Post: 26513

In the next release we will be adding support for |MDD to be appended to a symbol in the Intraday File Update List which will cause market depth data updates to be started.

It's a little known, but very useful feature that I hope SC doesn't deprecate anytime soon.

As Sierra Chart will maintain Intraday chart data for symbols entered into Intraday File Update List window whether the charts are opened for those symbols or not, while connected to the data feed (File >> Connect to Data Feed), how can I be sure that it is also done for historical data?
Thanks.

There is no equivalent for the symbols for Historical Daily data files.
