Hello, I’ve just purchase a study from a vendor, but now vendor is asking me for sierra chart account name. Is it common/safe practice? Best regards. |

Yes, he has a protected library against stealing it. Without an account name, vendor can't authorize you in the list of authorized users (name only, NO password).

To add to what Ackin said, this mechanism can also be used when subscribing to a custom study. A date can be set to disable access when the subscription expires or is canceled. Also a Service Level can be assigned on a per-user basis that unlocks different features of the code. You can read about it here: Advanced Custom Study Interface and Language (ACSIL): Redistributing and Allowing Use Only by a Defined List of Users Brad H ForgivingComputers.com |
