Hi, as a spread trader I need historical midpoint data to have accurate charts in SC. So I have decided to use a VPS so that SC can continue to run 24/7 and collect real time bid/ask/midpoint data. So that I will always have historical midpoint data available for multiple contracts I've decided to open multiple charts for the same instrument so that data will be always available. For instance when trading CL, I will open 24 contract months so that I will have 2 years worth of contracts always available that I can chart and plot different spread scenarios.

What I would like to know is if there is a way to have this data collected without having to open so many charts? For instance, two years worth of contracts just on CL would be 24 charts that SC has to open when loading. And if I have more instruments you could see how I could end up with hundreds of charts open just to collect data. So is there a way to collect and store streaming data without having to have so many charts opened? Thanks in advance.

Hi SCE, quick Q on this: to do the same thing but with weekly bars, should I stay with intraday files, and just set 'Days-Mins-Secs Per Bar' to 5-0-0?

There is no update list for Historical Daily data. We really definitely recommend using normal Historical chart data for Weekly bars. And not Intraday data.

Also to do Weekly bars with Intraday data, refer to:
Chart Settings: Days-Minutes-Seconds-Milliseconds Per Bar (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Bar Period >> Intraday Chart Bar Period Settings menu)
