Auto Trading System Start Time End Time

Hi Everyone, I use the Trading System Based on Alert which has: Start Time for Allowed Time Range:16:00:00 End Time for Allowed Time Range:15:55:00 It seems like the time I implemented does not work. How is the time supposed to be inputed here? It's not explained in the technical manual. Any videos on it? Thanks, Dennis |

Currently there is not support for reversed session times for those Inputs with the Trading System Based on Alert Condition study. This will be supported in version 1949. Hi SC, Futures trading has a halt at that time or you will be charged margin. So, I need to have my system stop from 15:55:00 to 16:00:00, then start back up again after 16:00:00. Thanks, Dennis |

If you want to avoid overnight margin, then you will probably need a more advanced trading system. I don't think the Trading System Based On Alert Condition Study will flatten any positions when the end time is reached, it will only prevent new positions. I can help you with a trading system that will flatten the trade at the end time. Sounds good. One workaround to the current study limitation would be to create a duplicate of the study and split up the start and end times where one trades from 16:00:00 to 23:59:59.999 and the other trades from 00:00:00 to 15:55:00.

Curious thing though. Are any of the futures symbols that you trade active during the exchange halt? You might want to restart trading at 17:00 CT instead of 16:00, since the CME Group will shutdown from 16:00 to 17:00 CT anyway. |

Hi User212764, You only get maintenance margin for the close at 16:55:00 to 17:00:00 CT. Not for the pauses or other halts. Check with your broker. Thanks, Dennis |

Sorry, the maintenance margin for the close is at 15:55:00 to 16:00:00 CT.
