1. What is the exact name of the study you are referring to?

2. It sounds like part of the problem is there might not be enough data in the chart.

It is not clear what is meant by "not updating".

2. I have 1,000 days on my daily charts and 30 days for a 30 min chart
3. I noticed this morning that after I loaded up my charts that I didn't have candles for M-Macys and Dis-Disney from yesterday. I had to go to edit then delete all data and download. After doing this the candles for yesterday showed up. This might be my main issue for the pivots. Why am I not getting my charts updated when I first bring them up. I checked other charts for instance JWN and I did have yesterdays candle on it. I have noticed for several months that some of my charts update and some don't. I have comcast and they say they are the best cable provider I can have for data.
I appreciate your efforts in helping me.

3. Most likely the problem is that you are receiving "pacing violations" from Interactive Brokers. For help with this, refer to help topic 37 here:

You will need to increase the delay between historical data requests.
