Hi Support,

What you see on the attached image is the 200 SMA (red line) and the 50 SMA (blue line). My questions is, why is the 50 SMA going further to the left than the 200 SMA?

According to me, since the 200 SMA is looking at more bars in the past (200 periods) than the 50 SMA (only 50 periods), my red line should be more extended to the left than my blue line. Is there something set up incorrectly on my charts?

Thanks for your help!

I can not see the attached image ("Access denied"); however, if I understand what you ask: the 50 SMA needs 50 bars to calculate, so it shows from the 51st bar on; the 200 SMA needs 200, so it can not show before the 201st bar.

What you are seeing is correct. The moving average does not start to draw until after the number of bars specified by the Length has been past from the beginning of the data.

If it were drawing prior to that point, then those bars would not be reflecting the moving average for the number of bars specified.
