Since yesterday I have had trouble starting a 2nd subinstance on my local network. Is there an issue with this?

No, there is no issue with this. Can you describe what happens when you start Sierra Chart? Is there any error in the Window >> Message Log?

At this time we show you are not running Sierra Chart on any system. So you should not be encountering that right now.

If you are using Sierra Chart on more than two systems, then you do need to activate additional systems:

I have closed all my charts for the night which is why you see that.

Do you consider a sub-instance running on a second computer to be a second system? Until Tuesday I have been able to run 2 sub-instances from my main computer on a second computer and a laptop at the same time. Since Tuesday when I start up I can get the first sub-instance running, but when I get to the laptop I get the message saying it will not run. How I was running prior to that does not work.

I understood what I was doing to be 1 system with 2 network sub-instances. If this is correct then I should not be getting the 'error' message. Is that correct? - and if so, how can I resume my previous functionality?

Yes this will be counted as a second system.

To begin with, nothing has changed in terms of the allowed number of systems. Your account is setup to run 2 separate instances of Sierra Chart, which means running the Sierra Chart application on 2 different computers at the same time. That is the only restriction. This is explained here:
Sierra Chart Purchase and License Information: Licensing / Number of Systems

A Sub-Instance of Sierra Chart is started when you select the option File >> New Instance. These Sub-Instances do not count toward the instances limit, as these are running on the same computer. Refer to the information on Sub-Instances here:
Using DTC Server for Data and Trading in Another Sierra Chart Instance

We cannot say why something was working and why something wasn't working. The information we gave you above are the rules and give you the information on what can work.
