Hi,

I wish to install Sierra Chart on another computer (2 in total) using the same account name / password and the same data trading service (SC). I wanted to confirm if it’s supported with my Standard package with no additional fees? Also, I am wondering if there are any special instructions to installing a second instance on a different computer? (i.e it won’t be following the instructions of using DTC server right?)

Thank you so much for your help.

Yes this is fully supported. Refer to:
Sierra Chart Purchase and License Information: Licensing / Number of Systems

Your account is setup to allow for 2 copies of Sierra Chart to be running at the same time, therefore there is no problem having it on 2 computers. There is no extra fees for running Sierra Chart itself. There is also nothing special you need to do for installing Sierra Chart on the second system. Just follow the standard installation procedures.

There are no special instructions. But understand the external services can place restrictions on simultaneous connections. Also in the case of when using the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed if you want to use that at the same time in two instances of Sierra Chart, you do need to pay for an additional real-time connection:

Thank you for the response. Just to clarify when you say “external services can place restrictions on simultaneous connections”, do you mean installing on a second computer will slow down data feed for both? I use only SC connection for data trading, will that slow things down as well? Thanks a lot.

No, that is not what we are referring to. They may not just allow a second connection at the same time.

Will you be using both copies of Sierra Chart at the same time?

Yes but my trading function isn’t integrated into Sierra (i.e I only use Sierra for data and charts) that shouldn’t affect the speed and accuracy of data feed I would be getting by having two systems running at the same time right?

No, there will be no problem with this but as we said, in the case of the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed you will need to activate a second real-time connection:

Understood. Extra fees required for futures exchange data but the data I’d be getting on both cash symbols and futures symbols won’t be affected in terms of speed and reliability right?
