Hello,

My broker is Interactive Brokers and I have data feed through TWS socket port. Please let me know if I can trade from my sierra DOM?

Thank you

John,

I am another trader who has an IB account.

Yes, you can trade from Sierra. I prefer to trade from the chart but you can also trade from the dom.

Thank you for your reply but actually I need to know how to have my sierra connected to IB?
I called IB first but they said I should contact you.

Thank you.

If you are receiving data you are probably set up correctly already.

But I'd recommend walking through the set up page and testing out the functionality as you go.

Great. It is working now. A sound also confirms order fill. By the way, It seems sierra can only get connected to IB with TWS in between. Do you think maybe in future, sierra can be linked to IB directly?

Thank you.

No, Interactive Brokers is not going to allow that unless we were to do centralized order routing with them.

Try AMP Futures (based in Chicago so not far across the border).

I recently opened an account with them because they support CQG data & trading (very high quality, far superior to IB's snapshot data), they are cheap as chips (Sierra level 3 is included free & level 5 for a fee) and because its CQG they support trading all over the world (I trade Hong Kong from Australia).

Sierra Chart supports CQG as a data & trading service (choose CQG WebAPI).

Use their contact us button to ask about funding your account in Canadian dollars. Its probably fine because I fund from New Zealand, live in Australia, fund in USD but hold a positive balance in HKD (which is a little less popular than CAD I'd guess).

Please let me know if I can have 2 sierra open at the same time?
Then I will use one to chart with sierra data and one with InterActive Brokers to send orders.

There is another thing, Please let me know where I may find my trade log in sierra.

This is great.

I have a problem setting colors in 'Graphic settings-Global' like whatever color I change there, does not show on charts. They remain unchanged. Can you guess anything? we also can set a remote session?

Thank you.

Most likely the option for Use Global Graphics Settings Instead of These Settings is unchecked on the window you get when you select Chart >> Graphics Settings. This means that you want different settings for that chart than what the Global Settings are. If this is not what you want (and you want just one set of settings for all charts), then select that option and then make the changes you want in your Global Graphics Settings (Global Settings >> Graphics Settings - Global).

Refer to the documentation on this setting here:
Graphics Settings: Use Global Graphics Settings Instead of These Settings

I am referring to 'Market Depth Historical Graph'. I have it color coded based on my settings attached. Please let me know if we can also color code DOM?

The way we understand this, this is not supported. The quantity numbers within the Chart DOM itself just uses two colors, one for the bid side and another for the ask side.

However, the Market Depth Historical Graph can be cconfigured to display the most recent market depth quantity numbers and color code those according to its own settings.
