I had a problem with a dom---one contract of 6J left to run---it got closed out sometime after 4pm--why?

If you are referring to a position, then probably you still have that position.

Most likely the FIX adapter you are connected to reset its Position data at the end of the day. Please check immediately with your broker and verify you do have the position.

Be aware that you can use the Order Fill Calculated position:
