I am on the Sierra Platform, using AMP as my broker and using the Rithmic Data Feed.

I am experiencing a couple of problems in the DOM that no one at the Trading Desk at AMP has been able to find an answer. I have read everything I can find in the Sierra Help documentation and still no answers.

Here are the 2 problems at play:
1.  How to save changes to the DOM.
2.  How to add Stops and Targets in the DOM.

SAVE CHANGES TO THE DOM
I wish to make changes to the DOM is Text sizes and colors. Here is the path I follow to make the following entries in the
DOM:

Chart>Graphic Settings
Uncheck “use Global Settings”
Make various changes to colors and fonts then click >Apply>ok

I then try to save through all 3 methods:
1.  SV at top of screen;
2.  DOM>Chart>Chart Settings>Apply>ok
3.  Then File>Save
Then close DOM and reopen. But the result is that no changes will be saved under any one of these save methods.

Please advise.

HOW TO ADD STOPS AND TARGETS IN THE DOM

In the DOM, I can add Targets but I cannot add Stops. Customer support at Amp advised me that the boxes under "Type" in the Target window should all “light up” but they are staying greyed out. Then what happens is I get a red error bar that Target and Stops do not match. We are unable to figure out how to match the stops, add the stops or open up those windows.
Please Advise.

Making changes to the DOM:
- First, make sure you understand the difference between the Global Graphics Settings and the Chart Graphics Settings. When you deselect the option for Use Global Graphics Settings Instead of These Settings you are then settings Graphics Settings that are different for each chart. If you want the changes to apply to all your charts and DOMs, then leave this option selected. Otherwise, you would have to change the Graphics Settings for each one how you want. Refer to the following documentation on this topic:
Graphics Settings: Use Global Graphics Settings Instead of These Settings

- Second, it sounds like you are trying to make changes to the Trading DOM and not the Chart DOM. If this is the case, then you need to select the Graphics Settings option on the Trading DOM itself, and not from the main Sierra Chart application. On the Trading DOM, select Chart >> Graphics Settings and then make the appropriate changes. If you do this correctly, you will only see DOM options that start with Trading DOM. Refer to the following documentation for this:
Customizing Fonts, Colors, Line Styles, and Widths for Chart Trading, Chart DOM, and Trade DOM: Trade DOM Colors, Line Styles, and Line Widths

Or, you can set the Graphics globally for the Trading DOMs, in which case just select Global Settings >> Graphics Settings and make the changes to the Trading DOM options.

Adding Target and Stop:
- You set the Target and Stop in the Targets tab on the Trading window and then as long as you have the option for Use Attached Orders selected, they will be added when you place your position. Refer to the following about Attached orders:
Attached Orders

Specifically here are the step-by-step instructions:
Attached Orders: Using Attached Orders and Attached Order Settings

John: Thank you. I understand the manual and everything you said in your email. I do not think I am communicating adequately.

Let me just try one question first:

How do you save changes to the DOM? This is not covered specifically in the manual. I make changes, hit Apply when I am done. I then save the overall chart as well using Cntrl S. I close the DOM, then reopen it and none of my changes are there.

Can you tell me where the switch is to save those changes?

John: Could there be a switch that is preventing the saving of changes? I just tried to change from showing points to showing currency on the DOM. Made the change in advanced Settings on both the chart and the DOM. Hit apply and ok. closed the DOM and reopened and it was back to points.

The way this is done is by saving the Chartbook which contains the Trading DOM . When the Chartbook is reopened you will have the previous configuration. Refer to:
Chartbooks (Workspaces)

I close the DOM, then reopen it and none of my changes are there.
This is the mistake. You cannot do it this way. You close the Chartbook and reopen the Chartbook.

John: Wow! Thank you - Thank you - Thank you. You are a "Godsend." I never found this instruction in the manual.

OK, my other question that is preventing me from trading relates to the Targets and Stops. I add a target then add a stop but the stop does not add. Instead another Target is entered. Then I get the red bar that says my Targets and Stops do not match.

And this happens intermittently and often on the 3rd contract.

When adding an Attached Order, if it is listed as a Target just simply change its Type to one of the Stop types.

I am still getting the red bar indicating that Target/stops NoMatch. How do I eliminate that bar and change it to green?

John: I figured out the red bar problem. You have to set the Target in the main DOM screen first to 3 or 4 and then go to Target and set your Targets and Stops.
