Hello support. Need some help with opening a chart book. I think i have 2 much stuff in the Chart book and when i go to open it now it locks up the entire computer on startup. Ive tried starting Sierra in safe mode with no luck and Windows in Safe mode and sierra in safe mode as well, and it still locks up the PC. It still locks up the PC. Any ideas how i can get this open? I really need the info on the books inside. Thanks
Ryan

If your entire computer is freezing then the computer is really not capable enough. You really need to use solid-state drives. And make sure you disable any antivirus or security software as well but we can see that you ran in safe mode which will do that.

We recommend getting a new solid-state drive and then moving Sierra Chart over to that drive. And then opening the Chartbook. For more information, refer to:

From my experience, if you're loading multiple continuous charts with days to load greater than 2000~3000 with intraday data storage unit set to 1 Tick, your PC will lock up while opening the chartbook. This is especially the case if those charts with very high Days To Load also have bid/ask volume-based studies like cum delta or volume profile.

There isn't much else you can do besides setting the days to load to a smaller number or increasing the intraday data storage unit to higher than 1 Tick for charts where you don't need it (will need to use separate instance for this).

Though I'm surprised even an ultra high-spec desktop as your's can't avoid this. My computer specs are quad-core 6700hq, solid state drive only, 32gb ram, and 1060 gtx.

Make sure Sierra Chart is using its own dedicated solid-state drive.
