Trade Simulation Mode On In Sierra Chart Instance #2

I upgraded to version 1870 yesterday and noticed that on Sierra Chart instance #2, when I toggle between Trade Simulation Mode on and off, my default account settings (real account/Sim1) are not displayed correctly. I need to manually set everything again so I set all my "real" accounts and disabled "Trade Simulation Mode on" and save all and then enabled "Trade Simulation Mode on" again. When I disabled the "Trade Simulation Mode on" again, my Sim1 account still displays as a default account. Before the upgrade, my default accounts were saved and displayed correctly based whether or not was in Trade Simulation Mode on or off. This issue is not happening in instance #1 (primary) only on the secondary instance

Any assistance is appreciated.

This is how it works. It is valid to use a simulation account even with Trade Simulation Mode disabled in a sub instance. So disabling Trade Simulation Mode will not change the Trade Account in the Trade Window in a sub instance.

On the primary instance (Instance #1) of Sierra Chart, the behavior is different. I can enable and disable "Trade Simulation Mode On" and the settings stick. In other words, if I enable "Trade Simulation Mode On" I only see the Sim1 account displayed. If I disable "Trade Simulation Mode On", I only see my real accounts and when you click on the account drop down, the Sim1 account is not even listed. This is the behavior for Sierra Chart instance #1 and #2 prior to the upgrade to 1870.

After the upgrade to version 1870, this issue only occurs in Sierra Chart instance #2. If I disabled "Trade Simulation Mode On", and select my real account and save it. And when I enable "Trade Simulation Mode On" again, and disabled it, my settings are gone and it defaults to Sim1 regardless if "Trade Simulation Mode On" is enabled or disabled. I also noticed that when I disabled "Trade Simulation Mode On" in instance #2, I see my real accounts and the Sim1 account in the account drop down

I have not received a response back. Should I uninstall and install version 1853 of SierraChart? I am not sure if version 1853 is still available for download but that this is version I was running without any issues until I upgraded to 1870.

The behavior that we described in post #2 is how it works now.

I also noticed that when I disabled "Trade Simulation Mode On" in instance #2, I see my real accounts and the Sim1 account in the account drop down
Yes this does make sense because both of those types of trade accounts are valid in a sub instance.

You can go back to version 1853:

Would this issue with instance #2, be addressed in future releases?

We will have to add an option to have it work like it did previously.

Would it possible to know which future version this would be addressed? That way, I would not upgrade until the version is available

It should not be longer than two weeks. So just wait two weeks and whatever version is available that will be the one.

The installation of Sierra Chart is successful according to that installer log. What is the exact error you are seeing?

I tried rolling back to version 1853 with no success. I used the Sierra Installer (see attachment) and got an error. I also attached the log file. Is the only way to install version 1853 is thru the Installer?

There is no need to go back to a previous version at this time. We have added the required option. Update to the latest prerelease:
Software Download: Fast Update

If you have a problem updating let us know.

The option is Global Settings >> General Trade Settings >> SelectNonSimTradeAccountOnEnteringNonSimModeInSubInstances

per the recommendation on this support thread, I installed the prelease version (version 1874) earlier this week. I noticed today that Sierra Chart instance #1 did not respond after running for about 2 hours (see attachment). This happened twice today. Because it was unresponsive, I had to use the Windows Task Manager to kill the process. For Sierra Chart instance #2, I was able to close it by clicking on exit.

I did not see any logs created today (Feb 14, 2019) under SierraChart -> logs folder. The last log file was created on Feb 12, 2019

The not responding condition has been discovered and resolved and we are going to be releasing a new version in about 20 to 30 minutes. It will be version 1875. We do apologize for the issue.

Thanks. Would I do a download prelease or download current version? Is there a way to know when this will be available?

I don't know if its a problem or not... if not, just for info or possible help, but in 1875, if "Select Non-Sim Account on Entering Non-Sim Mode in SubInstances" in the subinstance, its impossible to be:

MAIN-> SIM Mode
SubIntances -> Sim1 account

On the SubIntances on SIM off and when Main in is sim, ( as indicated by the documentation as one of the SIM methods for subinstances ) will always point to real broker account. Disabling that "Select Non-Sim Account on Entering Non-Sim Mode in SubInstances" on the subinstance, makes it possible to select Sim1 account in subinstance while Main/Server is on Sim Mode.

Also, and sorry for a little offtopic, but while testing this I have found that "Bid/Ask triggered" and "MIT Client Limit" orders issued on server/MAIN appear on subinstances as "unknown" order types, and can't be managed.

Could this be fixed ?

In regards to post #21, this is true and we will update the documentation and maybe the setting name needs to change.

In regards to post #22, we are looking into this now.
