I had a 2 contract live position today. When the set 'daily loss net' was hit, 1 contract was closed and the 2nd contract remained active and continued to accrue a loss well beyond my set limit. GPLM was also set to 'Lock' for 1 minute after loss is hit so i could not close the remaining 1 contract. Is there a reason both contracts were not cleared when the daily loss was reached ?

Thanks,
Joe

1. You are running an older version. Be sure to update following the instructions here:
Software Download: Fast Update

It is very important to update.

Global Profit/Loss Management is a relatively new feature and it has been greatly improved since the older version you are running.

But it does not sound like the issue you had relates to the functioning of it. It sounds like it is a problem related to one of the orders getting rejected. You can tell from the Trade Activity Log:

Here is the current documentation for this feature:

From user:

I had completely forgot about the issue from last year as it hasn't happened since. I have enabled the HMOUP button. Is that all that needs to be done to resolve the issue ?

What does HMOUP mean? This is not any built-in abbreviation code.

Last time this occurred the 'Hold Market Order Until Pending Cancel Orders Are Confirmed' button was added in Global Trade Settings.

Yes certainly you do want to enable that option.

Why wouldn't that be enabled by default ?

Because it can be unsafe if there is not an acknowledgment of an order cancellation. This could be the case for example with Interactive Brokers. And it also delays the processing of the market order. It is just not considered something completely safe to use.

Not sure i follow entirely. The feature was added so orders would not be sent to market at the instant the 'Daily Net Loss' is hit and the system is Locked. But you're saying it's 'not safe' to use. So either way , if your 'Daily Net Loss' is hit, you're still exposed to some risk. Would you please keep the thread open for a few days? I would like to review and perhaps ask some follow up questions.

I have a better understanding of how my broker handles orders. Should be safe to use with the button enabled. I've no additional questions. Thanks for your help.
