Please provide the instruction for customizing the order of trade execution. My platform is currently set First In First Out. I want to change it to Last In First Out. Thanks in advance :-) !

Are you referring to how orders are matched together in the Trade Activity Log and within a chart?

Hello Support,

Yes, I want orders matched on a "most recent order in, most recent order out basis" This is the same as saying "oldest order in, last order out.

my current platform is "oldest order in, first order out basis"

I want to be able to scalp around a position. So the first position placed will remain while I open and close subsequent positions.

This "LIFO concept is basic 101 accounting. It determines how you value your inventory while you are actively increasing and decreasing your inventory.

Thank you in advance for your help.

not sure what the conclusion from LIFO /FIFO fill matching problem in REPLAY is but the thread is locked...

i'm also looking for instruction like post #1 so sierra is LIFO, not FIFO.

i have enabled
1) Chart >> Chart Settings >> Advanced Settings 3 >> Open Position Average Price = Use Last In First Out Fill Matching for Open Position Average Price (Trading Information Windows: How Average Price for Positions Is Calculated and Used)

2) Global Settings >> Chart Trade Settings. Enable the option Order Fills >> Display Entry/Exit Connecting Lines

after this, i tested. but as the connecting lines confirmed, it's still using FIFO, not LIFO

not sure if 3 & 4 are needed to make LIFO work... but here is what i tried (with 1 & 2 still enabled):

3) Trade >> Open Trade Window for Chart >> Menu/M button and make sure there is a checkmark by Support Scale Out (Attached Orders: Scaling Out)

4) not sure if this helps at all with LIFO because the last order should be the first out regardless if it's the nearest order or furthest order ... but i have Global Settings >> General Trade Settings >> Scale Out setting = nearest order (Attached Orders: Scaling Out)

after this, i tested. but as the connecting lines confirmed, it's still using FIFO, not LIFO

please let us know how to configure sierra to LIFO

thanks for the help!

LIFO would be very useful for chart trading/position lines.

This is coming but we are getting behind on it. Other priorities have come up.

looks like this is done :)

1926 Release Date: 2019-05-28

Added support for Last In First Out order fill matching. When using this matching method, this is less efficient than first in first out.

Hey friends! I just read through this conversation about LIFO order processing and am interested to find out more. Is it possible to toggle between FIFO and LIFO order processing presently?

LIFO is supported in the newer versions of Sierra Chart for the Trade Activity Log and for charts.

You can find information about the menu command for this here:

Thank you for pointing that out. That was not the right link. We mistakenly put a support board link. We have updated the post and here is the correct link:

Specifically refer to this menu command:

It is nice to see this after the fact, in the Trade activity log, but how about having it work in live trading! I see no documentation about this?

I did this :

Chart Settings: Use Last In First Out Fill Matching (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Trading menu)
