Hi,

I created a simple Study Alert on a hourly chart that is triggering every hour but not getting reset.

code is simple - SG! > 0 on a MACD

I have the following setting:

- Reset Alert Condition on New bar
- Alert only once per bar
- Evaluate on Bar close

Since I have the "Reset Alert Condition on New bar" my expectation is that with the next bar, the triggered alert must get extinguished. I read the documentation again and it is confusing. If this is not expected behavior then please answer the following qn -

1) How do I get the alerts to be shown/sent to email only the first time, not every time a new bar continues to evaluate the condition to be true. Realistically this can be annoying since the true condition can last for 100 bars and I sure don't want 100 emails or 100 SMSs.

Alert - Chart: NQ-201903-GLOBEX [C] 60 Min #3 | Study: MACD | Formula: =SG1 < 0 is TRUE. | Last Price: 6637.50 | Bar start date-time: 2019-01-17 03:30:00 | Alert: AlertSound (1)
Alert message successfully sent.

Above is the snippet from Alert log. It shows similar message every hour.

Thanks

Alerts have to go from a False state to a True state in order to become active. By selecting the option for Reset Alert Condition on New Bar you are forcing the alert back to a False when the new bar starts and then it sounds like the condition is still true so you will get a new notification.

Therefore, just unselect the option for Reset Alert Condition on New Bar. As long as the Alert will go false at some point in the future and then go back to True, it will work properly.
