Hi,

I was using 996 for quite some time before updating yesterday to 1045. I use volume profile and tick data heavily, so I expect high memory usage. However, since updating, the memory usage has gone through the roof. Interestingly, this doesnt show up in the task manager - I see the executable using 1.3 gb of memory (private working set), the same as it did with 996. But memory usage for the entire machine is effectively maxed out. Nothing had changed except the update from 996 to 1045, but I cant confirm this as my chartbooks will not load when I tried to re-install 996.

What changed to cause this massive memory spike, and why it not being reported correctly in the task manager? I can verify that SC is using huge gobs of memory by opening and closing chart-books and the application. The last test I did showed total memory usage (on the Performance tab of task manager) dropping from 7.10 GB to 2.77 GB when I closed the program - with NO other changes. I dont want to be referred to the help page about memory usage - I just want to know what changed between 996 and 1045 that caused the usage to spike so much.

Also, is it possible to use the chartbooks in 996 again? I dont want to re-create my books in 996 as they are pretty detailed, and 1045 doesnt really offer me anything I need.

Thanks,
Steve

This memory use is probably from the caching of the Intraday data by the operating system. Nothing has changed in Sierra Chart which would affect the OS caching and we do not control that anyway.

To use Chartbooks in a prior version, refer to:

There was a dictation error in the prior response.

This is what we meant to say:

It has been corrected.
