BitMEX DOM P&L Question

Hello,

Regarding the XBTUSD perpetual swap, since 1 contract of XBTUSD = $1.00, a quantity of 100 on the trading DOM (see attached pic) should be equivalent to $100, yes?

If this is correct, why then does the P&L column show a $50 increase only one tick higher than the entry price @ 3844?

Also there is zero leverage being utilized with this simulated trade.

Thanks,

ZS

Ok so I figured out how to change the DOM P&L to currency (C), however I'm still confused as to how much is changing with each tick in US dollars?

It looks like $50 per tick (see attachment), but that can't be right, if my position is only 100 contracts of XBTUSD, which again should be equivalent to $100.

Under Chart Settings --> Advanced Settings 2, I have the Currency Value Per Tick set to 0.5.

This is from the BitMex documentation:

Note that all Bitcoin quantities are returned in Satoshis: 1 XBt (Satoshi) = 0.00000001 XBT (Bitcoin)

Therefore the correct currency value per tick is as follows:
0.000000005

We have now updated the Symbol Settings correctly.

Follow the instructions here to update the Symbol Settings:
Global Symbol Settings: Update Global Symbol Settings

After that follow these instructions for each chart for XBTUSD-BMEX:
Global Symbol Settings: Update/Apply Symbol Settings to Charts

So as you can see it is a very tiny value and you are going to need to trade considerably more of a quantity to have a gain or loss of 100 USD. But we recommend verifying our understanding before risking real money. But if we are wrong, we want someone to correct us on this, and explain why we are wrong.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but the Currency Value Per Tick only accepts 8 decimal points, so 0.000000005 is not possible.
Could this limit be lifted?
