when looking carefully into the definitions of these patterns (as defined by Toby Crabel) i see you have done in Narrow bar range what is called "xNR", that is, taking the last bar and comparing it to the last x Bars.

however, the "xBar NR" is something different... (and is more potent)
it takes the last x Bars range (max high-min low) and looks in the past y periods for all x bar ranges and determines if the last one has the smallest range.

so this takes two parameters, X (Bars number) and Y (Periods back)

it would be great to add to it another flag to detect if the xBar NR are inside bars to a previous bar, which makes the patters even stronger

Hello, I have just obtained a copy of Crabel's book, and I see the sections where this is discussed. I will look into it over the weekend and get back to you on Monday.

Hello again, I have finished reading the relevant chapters of Crabel's book. It would not be difficult to add an Input that lets the user choose between x NR and xBar NR. I will work on that tomorrow.

I have finished re-working the Narrow Range Bar study as per this support request. I have made analogous modifications to the Wide Range Bar study. I have submitted the code to Sierra Chart Engineering for implementation. The changes should be available in the next release.

They are the Narrow Range Bar and Wide Range Bar studies. These have been updated to include the new options, but can be used as they were previously.

These updates will be in the next Pre-Release (v1852). When available, you can update using these instructions:
