First, in order to put on the Open/Close Markers, you need to select the Style (which you are doing) and then select which column you want to display the marker(s) in by selecting the appropriate item in the Input Place Open Marker/Boxes In.

Second, the lines you are seeing are extension lines from one of the studies that you have on the chart. We do not know why they are only appearing when you select the Open/Close Marker Style, but the thing to do is to remove each study, one by one, to determine where it is coming from, and then turn off the extension lines on that study. If, for some reason, that does not work, then attach your Chartbook to this post for us to take a look at what is happening.
