Setup:

1. Sim trade mode
2. Chart Trade Mode Off
3. Enter a trade from Trade Window with a stop and profit target
4. Orders and position show up in the window

Price passes through stop without activating the stop.

There should be no reason for a problem other than what is documented here:
Trade Simulation: Why Fill and Order Prices Can Be Wrong or Unexpected /
Orders Do Not Fill When Expected

This is from the documentation:
The original chart the order was entered from needs to have Trade >> Show Orders and Position checked while the order is still working, for the order to be filled.

2. This is the problem based on the above.

If it is not one of the documented items, let us know and we need to look at this with remote assistance.

Your answer is correct but has unintended consequences.

I have 2 charts set up:

Chart 1: No trading allowed
Chart 2: Trading allowed

1. By accident I entered a trade on Chart 1 even though Chart Trade Mode is disabled
2. I turned off "Show Orders and Position" on Chart 1 because this chart is not for trading
3. I resumed monitoring the trade on Chart 2
4. As a result of what you stated the stop does not function

How can I fully disable trading (including entering trades via chart window) on Chart 1 so this error is not possible?

Thanks

1. Maybe you entered an order through the Trade Window? Tell us how you mistakenly entered the order.

Just close the Trade Window for that chart and make sure that Trade >> Chart Trade Mode On is disabled.

Yes, Chart Trade Mode On was disabled.

New example:

- Opened a position in CLZ8 at 56.40
- Realized I should roll my charts to CLF9
- Roll the charts
- Watched CLZ8 on the DOM because all my charts had rolled
- Moved sell stop to 56.56 on DOM
- After inventories CLZ8 traded below 56.56 but again, my stop was not hit and position remained active

The documentation is clear. You cannot change the symbol of the chart and expect the stop entered from that same chart to continue to work and this only applies to simulated trading. This is just how it is. This is only simulated trading and changing the symbol of a chart is a very unusual condition when you are trading from that same chart.

There is no problem here. This is by design.

From our perspective you are going out of your way to somehow prove a problem when under usual conditions you are not going to have this issue at all. You just need to understand what we are telling you and is documented.

Ah I see, this should not translate to non-sim trading. In that case I'm not so bothered. Thanks
