Chart Trading Without Trade Window Attached?

To trade directly from the chart does the trade window have to be attached to the chart? I ask this question because the trade window takes up too much space and minimizes the size of chart when it is attached. Is it possible to trade directly from the chart without the trade window being attached? Thank you.
