when I put the new 2 digit symbols in my chart (18) I am missing history of the price. can I fix that? thank you

Follow the instructions here to update the Symbol Settings:
Global Symbol Settings: Update Global Symbol Settings


After that, re-download all the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download".

The p&L in the "trade window" always shows zero now. I have entered a trade but trade windows was showing a p&L of zero. I had to close the trade by my broker.
The the target and stop remains on the screen and was forced to close them all manually. The day p&L have not been updated and still shows as zero.
I am using version 1826, done a full reset and updated the symbol from the server. deleted and re-downloaded today's data.

What can I do to get it in sync with Gain?

This appears to be an issue on the Gain Capital side but we are going to be doing some testing and we will determine what the problem is and let Gain Capital know about this.

Update symbol settings did not help. My hourly and 15 min data are still missing with the new 2 digit symbols. When I turn my sierra charts off and back on my symbols in my quoteboard turn back to the old one digit symbol! thank you

Do this again, it must resolve the issue:

Follow the instructions here to update the Symbol Settings:

And be sure to follow through the instructions including waiting for the update to complete.

After that, re-download all the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download".

Also update to prerelease 1827. It will resolve the issue with the Quote Board and single digit years. Instructions:

And do the update first before updating the Symbol Settings. This is important due to a general improvements with handling of Symbol Settings. Do not stay on the version you are running.
