I am trying to eliminate the DAILY chart in my chartbook that was only used to generate 25, 50, 100, 200 and 300 Day SMAs onto other charts via the Study Price Overlay for performance issues.

Using my 60 minute chart I have created the desired studies by first multiplying by 60 to get the 1 day value and then multiplying the SMA length by the number of days desired.

for the 25 Day 60 * 25 = 600
for the 50 Day 60 * 50 = 1200
for the 100 Day 60 * 100 = 2400
for the 200 Day 60 * 200 = 4800
for the 300 Day 60 * 300 = 7200

This seems to work ONLY for the 25 and 50 day.
The 100, 200, and 300 day SMA do not generate correctly, but their values appear as copies of the 50 day.

My chart ALSO displays the SMAs using TEXT for study. Please see encl. pic.

Is there an issue with the multipliers?
Or is this possibly an issue with the Study Text Display for Study similar to the reported issue regarding the Study Prefix?

Thanks.

You probably need to load more data in the chart. For the 300 day SMA, you'll need at least 7200 bars, or about a year's worth of 60 min bars.

Thanks for all of your good help. I kept dding bars but finally realized that I should surrender and create a daily chart with the daily SMAs and use the Study Overlay Price to get them on the desired charts.

The 25-200 SMAs from the Day chart appear correctly.

So I duplicated the Day chart and made it a Week Chart with 25 and 50 SMAs to again use the Study Overlay Price onto my chart. I extended the bars to load back to 01-2017 and still can't get the Weekly 25 and 50 SMAs to show.

How to get the Weekly 25 and 50 SMAs to show on 4 minute and Renko 5-4-1 charts?
Help please
Thanks

It overlays for me when I test it.

A weekly 50 SMA overlaid on a 4 min chart will look like a horizontal line. Maybe it's there but not in view. Squish the Y axis to see what's out there.

Had to resort to a bit of creativity to get close to what I wanted. See encl. pic.
Thanks again.

BTW I have some study ideas for Sierra to implement for eMini traders. I'll post them over the weekend.
