I have just started having an issue with connectivity. My virus protections, Trend Micro Internet Titanium, gave me a message yesterday that Sierra Chart Help was suspicious and blocked it. Since then Sierra Chart was deleted from my computer. I have reloaded and now every time I open SC all of my futures contracts are changed to stale date (June 2013, etc.) I change them to current and when I exit and open them again, they go stale again. I have deleted and reinstalled SC and keep having the same problem. I have responded to my antivirus that SC is trusted. Please help!

Make sure to Save your chartbook when exiting Sierra Chart, or by selecting File >> Save on the menu after you update the symbols on the chart.

Thanks, I always do that, every time I exit. This is new, so that's why I asked. I'm not doing anything different. This came out of nowhere.

Are there any error messages shown in Window >> Show/hide Message Log when you save the Chartbook?

Are you opening the same Chartbook?. We assume so.

Otherwise, we cannot see any reason for a problem at all.

OK, we have no answer. I get no error code. The same chart books are set to open automatically each day. I can't understand why it has started happening. I have to go through my futures charts to be sure it's on the current contract, which is the same one that it was on when I exited and saved all of my work.

On each of the charts make sure that Chart >> Chart Settings >> Automatically Rollover Futures Symbol is disabled. Maybe something is not functioning properly with that.

Are you also using Chart Linking. This is set through Chart >> Chart Settings >> Advanced Settings 2. Maybe the symbol is changing to the symbol of a chart with the same link number.

OK, I can't seem to get this right. I do not have chart linking in any of my charts. However, I changed the settings for all of my charts and disabled "Automatically Rollover Futures Symbol." I do have "Continuous Futures Contract" enabled. My problem now is I can't get the message log off my screen. When I try to minimize it or delete it, it pops right back up with the message "continuous intraday data loader. No input data is available. Currently no data in file to display. I can disable "Continuous Futures Contract" but I want to be able to have the futures charts continuous.

You may be loading too much data into the chart and running into limitations with Interactive Brokers data.

We recommend reducing the Days to Load setting in Chart >> Chart Settings.

We also understand why you say that the symbol goes to an earlier contract month. That would make sense during the process of the Continuous Futures Contract chart being built. In the case of Interactive Brokers, the feature is not going to work that well because Interactive Brokers does not provide a very fast and reliable historical data system. The process may be too slow. So we would recommend avoiding using it with Interactive Brokers.

We would like to let you know about this new data feed we are going to be offering in the next few days:

Please note, it is not available right now. we expect to have it ready by next week.
