I have regions 1 thru 3 containing numerous studies in each region. I now wish to add a new study in a new region 2 pushing the old regions down. Hence I would end up with 4 regions. I am having great difficulty doing this by selecting each study and incrementing the region number. What can I do to insert new region 2 and populate it with a new study?

You have the right idea, start at the Highest Region number and work your way down:

1. Find all the studies using Region 3, change each to Region 4.
2. Find all the studies using Region 2, change each to Region 3.
3. Add your new study to Region 2.

Thks Brad. Fails: Each region has 2 to 10 studies. As I would open each study and change its region then hitting "OK" then repeating for the next lower study, all would go well and I could verify the new region for those reset. But wait, after a few of these I went back to verify and found that all previous changes were reverted back to the original regions. SC did not like my changes. Maybe it did not like an empty region 2, but waited a while to revert??? I was inserting a new region 2 but I did not actually add a study to region 2. I planned to do that later. Whats up?

There is not an easy way to do what you are asking for in post #1 without modifying the studies individually.
