Hi, I would like the have the bar painted a color (preferred) or a marker above and below based on 2 criteria.

1. If the close is lower than the open (a down bar) and the delta (ask/bid volume difference) for that bar is Positive paint the bar red (or have a marker above the bar)

2. If the close is higher than the open (an up bar) and the delta (ask/bid volume difference) for that bar is Negative paint the bar green (or have a marker above the bar).

I did not know if there is an existing study that is able to be configured to accomplish this or if a custom study needed to be done.

Thanks

Try the attached chartbook. Maybe you need to adjust the symbol, but the studies should give you an idea on how this is done.

Good luck.

Thank you for the time I downloaded the chartbook but when I tried to apply the exact same settings and inputs to my existing chart it did not work. Not sure why. There are other studies on my chart so I do not know. I also am unsure how the alert references the Ask/Bid study as it is based on the Main Price Graph.

I will look in the support section on the alert study and see what I can figure out.

I think I noticed something. The Ask/Bid Study is ID:1 so the Alert Study seems to reference that. If the Ask/Bid is another ID number then it does not work. So the question is how to get the alert to reference another ID number, so I do not have to try to remove all the other studies to change the order numbers. Since if one decides to add the alert later on there must be away without starting from scratch.

You will have to adjust the alert condition in the cbboac study accordingly. Just change the ID number there. I gave you a working example, you can figure out adjusting this to your needs. Check out SC documentation that deals with simple alert conditions.

I did everything as I should. I am getting an alert manager error. It says - Error:#NAME?

Not sure what that means I have search documentation and cannot find it- May have missed it.

Thanks
