Hi,

I am looking to activate Sierra Exchange Data Feed for the full CME Group and I have a funded account with Interactive Brokers. Your website quite often cites technical problems in integration with IB. I am wondering if the problems mainly occur due to the IB data system/software not fully compatible with Sierra or IB data feed itself being inferior (delayed or spotty real-time data)? I am happy to trade separately on the IB TWS to avoid most connection/technical problems and purchase CME futures data from Sierra but my main concern is if the real-time data itself from these two sources match? i.e. would i expect to see different prices pretty often at the same instance from these two sources?

Thanks a lot for your help,

Elaine

Whether they match or not, is not relevant. What counts is that the data from the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed is direct from the CME (in the case of CME futures data), it is complete and delivered without any delays. This is what is most important.

Thanks for your reply. Well i care about the synchronization because I have to trade on TWS, not through Sierra so the data I see on Sierra based on which I execute orders hopefully synchronize to what’s on TWS, the actually prices I will have to trade at since I almost always go in at market prices.

If you always use market prices, you you will be fine with what the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed shows. It does not matter what TWS is showing. TWS does not execute your order. The exchange does.
