No more support for server-side bracket orders when using CQG. This impacts me greatly since I am not close to Chicago. My suggestion to Sierra, if their reputation is being compromised by CQG, is to default to no support but offer an override switch with disclaimer. I checked with my broker about the CTS solution but they are having problems implementing it, (the usual bugs and lack of familiarity), and it could be several months before things are worked out. So in the meantime I can't update my Sierra software. Does anyone else want to weigh in on this issue?

For the fraction of a second that my order would be transmitted and filled for a Market Order then my OCO brackets being transmitted from my PC to CQGs servers the chance of my connection or PC going down RIGHT then is VERY small. Not impossible, but small. I’d prefer it all being transmitted at once and sitting on CQGs servers but it’s not a deal breaker for me. I have the CQG iOS app on my phone in case I lose a connection anyway. I’d just open it up and place my stops/targets and move on.

Limit orders could be a little more concerning if I didn’t happen to be paying attention when a Stop Limit was hit and filled and then the connection was lost. Just as unlikely but I’d have to be careful about stepping away from my PC waiting for an order to trigger and fill.

I was very much impacted by this as well and it caught me completely off-guard as I didn't know there were so many problems with CQG and server-side brackets.

A majority of my orders are limit orders that sit away from current price with stops and targets attached. My orders can fill while I'm sleeping, at work or just away from the computer. I need to have server-side bracket support. I was entertaining the CTS options, but with the standard connection, Sierra doesn't recommend using server-side brackets with it, although they at least support it. With the CTS Low Cost model, there is no mobile access to manage the pending server-side orders that are sitting on the Sierra servers. I agree with you that Sierra should have just put a statement out that they do not recommend it for stated reasons, but still allow them like they are doing with the standard CTS connection. In my view, staying on an older version of Sierra can only buy you so much time before it is necessary to upgrade.

In the end, I just switched to Gain Capital, which still has full support for server-side bracket OCO orders and a decent mobile app.
