Hello,

I read the user manuel, but I can not find a response to my question, perhaps you have the solution ?
I would like to have a method of coloring for each price (each level of price with two parameters :
1) choice of color for all the price level based on dominant side (for example green for buyers dominants and red for sellers dominants);
2) shading of the color (red or green) based on total volume (buy + sell) at each price, more total volume = the darker the color with several shading of color, at least four

The Numbers Bars does not have a way to do exactly what you are looking to do. The closest to this is to set the Background Type to Full Background and then set the Background Coloring Method to Based on Volume - Actual. The only thing is that the color of the bars in this case is determined by whether it is an Up bar or a Down bar (i.e. is the Close higher than or less than the Open).

What we believe you would want would be an option for the Background Coloring Method to be Based on Dominant Volume - Actual which would then color the bar based on whether the Total Ask Volume is greater than or equal to the Total Bid Volume for the bar, in which case it would use the Up colors (Green). Otherwise, it would use the Down colors (Red).

We will look into whether we can easily add this option. But, we want to make sure that this is exactly what you are looking for. Please respond to this post and let us know. Also, think about whether you would want the Actual Volume shading or whether Percentage values would be more of what you want.

Hello,

Thanks for reply.
That I say is perfectly illustrated by the file joined to my post named Capture.png, have see it ?
The background coloring method (green ou red) is based to dominant side (bid, ask), not for the total footprint (or bar) but at each price level : so we can easily and very quickly see who does what, who is at the maneuver.
The shading of color define above (red light to to red dark or green light to green dark) is based on the relative volume at each price (darker )= more volume at this price compared to volumes traded at other price levels in the bar or footprint)

I hope it's more clear, sorry if I'm not clear enough
Have a good day

Yes, we have seen the image provided, but it does not necessarily give us all the information.

We understand that you want the coloring at each price level to be the dominant side for the entire bar, not just on the dominant side.

But we are still unsure of what you want to display for the coloring levels. In particular, do you want Actual Volume, or Percentage of Total Volume, or some other metric such as Dominant Side Percentage at Price (i.e. the dominant side volume (bid or ask) as a percentage of the total volume at that price), or Dominant Side Percentage of Total Bar (i.e. the dominant side volume (bid or ask) as a percentage of the total volume for the entire bar)?

Sorry for the bad explanations, I do not speak English very well

Relative volume : Volume at each level shading (dark to liht) is relative to the total volume of the bar footprint

Thanks

Ok, we will work on this. What we are going to add is a new Background Coloring Method that will be called Based on Dominant Total Volume - Actual. This will function exactly the same as the current option Based on Volume - Actual, except that the coloring at any price will be based on the dominant side (Up Colors (default of Green) for Ask dominance, and Down Colors (default of Red) for Bid colors).

We have updated the Numbers Bars study to include the option Based On Dominant Total Volume - Actual for both the Background Coloring and the Text Coloring. As stated above, this will color the bar the dominant side at that price and then the coloring is based on the actual total volume at that price level.

This will be in the next release 1779. When available, you can download the release following these instructions:
