Hello,

my data connection randomly cut off this morning and I cannot re-connect. I found the following error and am curious what it means:

"DTC client Socket (78) / connection error. Error Code 10061. No connection made as target machine actively refused connection"

any thoughts would be graciously appreciated,

cheers

I submitted the full log from my application just in case its helpful in some way.

This is from Rithmic:
Rithmic is investigating degraded connectivity into the Rithmic infrastructure due to an ISP failure. The Rithmic system is functioning at this time.

I understand that things like this happen (ISP failures) every so often. For future reference, what other options do I have for setting up a backup system of access to charts and a functioning trading DOM? I may transition completely around Rithmic eventually as well, though I don't fully understand what is possible at this point. Any information you could share in this regard would be much appreciated.

Refer to this thread about this:

It explains everything.

Probably no need to be concerned more about this right now.

...that was very good to read. Thanks ~ honestly I seem to recall there being, lets say, a lack of fluid continuity in various regards between sierra chart and rithmic over the years. That noted, I feel right now is a perfect time to learn a bit more about how I may most functionally transition around Rithmic. Would this necessitate me changing from my current brokerage, Optimus, to another broker? Honestly I don't fully understand how such a transition might progress at this point and look forward to learning more. I do know that you all at Sierra Chart are quite skilled dependable knowledgeable and approachable. Many thanks for being so. Any feedback you might have for me I look forward to receiving.

cheers

You can stay with Optimus. You could have a look at using CTS as a backup:

And we apologize for the delay, we only had time to go over this Rithmic analysis to find out actually what happened from our perspective, over this weekend.
