Hello,
It would be great if it was possible to link the Custome Text Drawing buttons from the control bar to a specific trade, and the stats associated with that trade. Is there a way to do that now?
If not, would you consider adding that functionality?

Thanks.

No, this is not supported. We are not totally sure what you are looking for. It is possible for us to display the notes/tag associated with a particular order fill on the chart with the order fill itself when the chart is set to display order fills.

Yes, I am currently displaying the trade info tag when the trade fills.
However, what I'm looking for is to be able to label the type of trade.

For example, I take a trade setup called Trade Setup 1. Trade fills.
I use the custom text drawing button to "label" that trade location as "Trade Setup 1."

It would then be great if when I see my trade stats, I can see which trades were labeled "Trade Setup 1" and compare those to trades labeled "Trade Setup 2".

So what I'm asking for is the ability to use Custom Text Drawing buttons to tag trades, have that tag associated with the trade, and then later on be able to sort and analyze my trades based on the different tags. In that way, I can analyze what are the best setups for me, what time of day, etc.

Thanks for considering.

If autotrading you can use:
NewOrder.TextTag = "Trade Setup 1"
The info you require will appear in Note column of Trade Activity Log

@Marmany - thanks. I'm trading manually.
It would be great if I could place the information from the Control Tool bar button directly into the Text Tag, or update the Text tag after I place the trade.

You can set a particular note/text tag for an order. Refer to:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/TradeWindow.html#TextTag

We are going to add an option to display this with order fills on the chart.

@Engineering -

Thank you for the response.

I have read the documentation regarding setting the tag for an order on the link you provided.

However, using that tag would not allow me to label the trade with both the Attached orders configuration (which I consider trade execution) and the Trade setup simultaneously. Having the ability to do both would be very helpful in trade analysis.

Additionally, as far as I can tell, I cannot tag the trade after I have executed it. It would be great if I can tag the trade with a certain setup name after I have executed the trade. In a fast moving market,there is often no time to type in the text before placing a trade (which is the nice thing about the Control buttons....no typing needed!). Being able to link the Control Toolbar text buttons with a trade either before execution or after execution is the functionality I am requesting.

Thanks!
