I have a few questions regarding the data displayed in my sierra chart.
1. If currently, I am using Service from SC Data - All Services [data] and later when I get a trading account from Interactive Broker and I change the Service from SC Data - All Services [data] to Interactive Broker [trading], will this affect the data feed source and quality? As I remembered that the tick data from Interactive broker is not that accurate... I change the service simply I want a lower cost for exchange fee.

2.If the data source and quality will not be affected, can I withdraw nearly all the money (maybe with 1USD left in IB account) and still continue to subscribe for a lower cost of exchange fee?

Thank you.

1. It depends upon the symbol. And what exchanges you have activated on the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed. If you want CME real-time data then you need to activate one of the lower-cost CME exchanges once you have an Interactive Brokers account.

2. The account needs to be funded with a reasonable amount. Not just 1 USD.

Thank you for answering. The most worrying part for me is that if I change the service from SC Data - All services [data] to Interactive Broker in Data/Trade Service setting, does it mean that I will use IB data feed instead of the exchange data from CME?

Also, may I ask does IC Market account count as a trading account ?

Thank you for your help.

As long as you have activated one of the CME exchange options for a trading account, the data will come from the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed when using Interactive Brokers. This is explained here:
Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed: Integration with Trading Services

We are not familiar with IC Market. So the answer is no.

Thank you for the prompt reply. Then when I change to use Interactive broker, does it mean that I have to open their platform in the same time in order to view the real time data from Sierra chart?

You really just have to connect once a month to the Interactive Brokers Trader Workstation as explained here:

Thank you very much really. At last, I would like to inquire how much will be counted as sufficient fund in the trading account in order to subscribe the exchange fee package at a lower price?

You really have to ask Interactive Brokers about this. Whatever the minimum is to be able to still use Trader Workstation.

But I thought what you meant is to just have a trading account number for IB? Why do I need to use Trader Workstation in order to subscribe a lower price for the exchange fee? Do I need to trade in Trader Workstation in order to subscribe a lower price for the exchange fee? :-) Thanks for the reply.

Sierra Chart needs to verify you have a trading account by connecting to Trader Workstation once a month. This is to meet CME requirements. There is no way around this. You do not have to perform any trading.

It has to be a functional funded account.

Thank you. So if I subscribe the gold futures data from sierra chart, I do not need to subscribe the gold futures from ib anymore? If so, can I still trade on IB platform?

Yes this is correct. But of course you are not going to get the real-time GC futures data within Trader Workstation.

Thanks. But if I cannot get the real-time GC futures data within Trader Workstation, can I still place my order / take profit / stop loss just like normally receiving real-time data in Trader Workstation?

You certainly can submit the order from within Sierra Chart when it is connected to Trader Workstation. And we would also assume you can within Trader Workstation as well.
