Hi, I have recently noticed that the intraday close of the day is not in sync with the close of a daily chart. Even though the daily chart price highlights the correct close price, the daily bar shows a different close. I have tried to refresh, download new data and edit, but the editing is only temporary. It saves ok but the next day it goes back to the incorrect daily close.

Please advice if I need to alter my chart setting to ensure the close displayed on the bar matches with the close price on the right hand side of the price column.

Thanks

Robert

Surely with the dax ita a straight 12 hr market!!! u guys need to understand data integrity. the close should be the same, not chopping off the day or cutting it short

8 am to 8pm should be easy, not hard.

OK go ahead and take your complaint to the EUREX.

It is pointless to post this here.

Although we are not sure why it is the price box on the right side of chart is in some cases not matching the closing price the last bar. That is unusual. We are not sure how you have configured the chart.

Quiet sad that we have to take it up with the exchange to resolve this issues which should be a simple data timing fix within your program. We should have the capacity to input a time range for trading period with any market that runs less than 12hrs to ensure all time frames are in sync.

If you look at the two charts attached, the one on the left uses historical data to create the daily bar whilst the chart on the right uses intraday data to create the daily bar. Huge difference between the two charts in relation to pivot points. Huge difference with the close price. By the way, the chart on the right is the correct one. Unfortunately using intraday data limits the amount of data I can use to create daily, weekly, monthly and yearly charts. The close price is very important for any technical trader. Above all , I cant understand why the price box on the daily chart show the correct closing price.

If this issue can be rectified, maybe through the data provider (CQG), that would be great.

I FIND IT HARD TO FATHOM THAT HAVING CRITICAL DATA CALCULATIONS AND THE SIERRA CHOOSE TO HIDE THEIR HEAD IN THE SAND ON THIS, THE CLOSE AND RELEVANT INFO IS IMPORTANT. YOU PROVIDE AN IMPORTANT PART FOR TRADING AND JUST GIVING A DISRESPECTFUL POST IS QUITE HARD TO SWALLOW, HOW ABOUT YOU CLOSELY LOOK AT IT, it's NOT A EXCHANGE PROBLEM ITS THE WAY THE DATA IS USED.

WE RELY ON ACCURATE INFO, CLOSE OF THE DAY IS NOT HARD, SURELY YOU CAN FIX THIS WITH A SETTING??????? CQG CLAIM THEY ARE ONE OF THE BEST DATA PROVIDERS AND TO BOOT THE CLOSE IS A SIMPLE LOCK IN, DAILY IS VERY IMPORTANT WHERE IT CLOSES AND HAVIGN THE RIGHT CLOSE MATHCING SHOULD BE SOMETHIGN TO THINK ON, THE MESSAGE YOU SENT DOESNT INPSIRE ME TO TRUST WHAT IM SEEIGN OR FOR THE FUTURE DEVELOPMENT TO BE BETTER, anyway I JSUT THINK YOU NEED AT LEAST LOOK AT IT ON THE HISTORIAL DATA, I NOTICED OIL AND ES SEEMS TO HAVE CHNAGED TOO, I HOPE WE DIDNT DO WHAT MA DID AND ASSUME 12 MIDNIGHT IS CUT OFF FOR A DAY, GOD HELP US, I THOUGHT WE ARE ALL A BIT MORE TECHNICAL THAT THIS?

WEEKLY AND MONTHLY GET EFFECTED AND CALCULATIONS GO OUT AND THAT MEANS ERRORS = LOSSES OR LESS PROFITS !! NOT HAPPY JAN

Can this problem be solved by changing data providers?

Once again here is the relevant documentation:

http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/helpdetails43.html#DifferencesBetweenClosePricesOnHistoricalDailyChartsComparedToIntradayCharts

Also refer to:
Historical Chart Prices

It is not our place to be educating users beyond what the documentation already explains. What you are seeing is the official settlement price in case that was not clear or your browser did not scroll to the right location in the documentation linked to.
