major lag

I am having major lag placing orders. Like a 1 to 3 second delay and get horrible fills. I am using cqg data with amp futures. i had a buddy log in to mine to test an order out and his was instant filled with no lag. so why am I having this issue. i have more than enough internet speed and computer hardware. Please Help!

Around the time that you notice this, do you notice that Sierra Chart itself is less responsive or in a frozen state at times?

One way to tell is to select the top level menu and browse through the menus and see if they display rapidly.

the platform is fine. its onl when placing live orders. DOm or chart I get terrible lag and horrible fills. my internet speed is 150mgb. plenty fast

no its not. its just when i place the actual order. ive compared with other platforms and sierra is actually faster. but something about placing the order is causing a major lag. its like its thinking what to do

How large is the C:\SierraChart\TradeActivityLog.DAT file?

In any case we would not really think that would be a problem but just considering all possibilities.



And when you submit the order, do you notice that Sierra Chart freezes/becomes inoperable, at the time you are submitting the order?

not really. i just pay attention to the DOM when i place the order and its like a standstill. it just doesnt make sense because i had a buddy try it from a different location and instantly his order order filled no delay at all.

also is there a 64bit version? I am using a 32 bit.

The 64-bit version is not going to make any difference.

Just so that we are clear, when you submit the order, the market data seems to be updating fine without delay? But there is just no immediate response to the order, in other words the status is "Order Sent" for a longer than expected time?

We really think this is a CQG connectivity issue and we do hear about reports related to this from time to time.

We recommend setting Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service to CQG FIX Trading.

If you cannot connect refer to the account requirements here:

But good chance you will have the same problem even with the FIX connection.
