Open your Chart Settings Dialog->Advanced Settings 2-> and enable Invert Prices. You can also do this with the study "1 Divided By Price". Chart Settings: Invert Prices (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol Settings menu) https://www.sierrachart.com//index.php?page=doc/StudiesReference.php&ID=77&Name=1_Divided_by_Price However keep in mind the price is not inverse, only visually. (Current EUR/USD is 1.23, it would be .812 if 1 Divided By Price was applied to the chart) If you'd like the price to be inverse (1.23 would be -1.23) then change the Real-Time Price Multiplier and the Historical Price Multiplier above the Invert Prices checkbox to -1. You may also need to set the Volume/Open Int. Multiplier to -1 as well. Chart Settings: Real-Time Price Multiplier (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol Settings menu) |

I just realized there is a study named "Multiply Bars By -1" that you can use instead of messing around with the chart settings. Then you could enable Display As Main Price Graph on the Study's Settings dialog if you wanted to. I'd try this first. https://www.sierrachart.com//index.php?page=doc/StudiesReference.php&ID=189&Name=Multiply_Bars_By_-1 Date Time Of Last Edit: 2018-03-22 20:23:58

Use the 1/Price study documented here: 1 Divided by Price Or you can use the Invert Prices setting: Chart Settings: Invert Prices (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol Settings menu) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. You would use the Study Subgraph Invert study.

thank you for your help. i tried the subgraph invert study and the y axis becomes a fraction instead of displaying the actual vix number. is there a way to keep the numeric value of the actual? appreciate it! |

Then that is not an inversion. What is it exactly that you want to do and we will let you know if there is a way to do it.

I just thought that the VX price on the y axis would just reverse order as well instead of it being a small decimal number. Is it possible to just reverse the VX price? Thank you! |

There is not a way to do exactly what you want. The only thing that comes close would be to multiply the chart by -1, which will give you prices going in the way you want, but they will be negative. Refer to the following to do this: Multiply Bars By -1 For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Actually, there is a chart setting on the Symbol settings page: "Real time price multiplier" and "historical price multiplier". Simply set both to "-1".

Guys, its 2025 - have we found a way to invert both the chart and the price scale yet?

Hi support, Recently I tried to use the Multiply Bars By -1 study on a Trade DOM without success. The scale is bugged when the scale setting Constant Range is set (as every DOM should be), and the last price box is invisible. The Trade DOM Bid Background and Trade DOM Ask Background color are also bugged when the scale is multiplied by -1. The junction between the 2 colors doesn't match the current inverted price level. It seems that this study doesn't work at all with a Trade DOM. Would it be possible to fix this study so that it works flawlessly with a Trade DOM ? Or to add a new setting : Chart Settings => Symbol Settings => Multiply Price by -1 that does the same as the study ? Adding a new Symbol Setting might be a better choice for ease of use because the users won't need to deal with 2 different scales settings (one from the chart, one from the study) Best regards, Edit : I forgot to say that I was planning to use the Trade DOM ONLY to show an inverted price scale on my screen. I am not planning to trade from this inverted trade DOM. I understand that inverting a scale might cause huge problems with the other market data columns such as Recent Traded volume Columns, etc. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2025-05-26 14:53:20

There are going to be all kinds of problems, you like you described, when using that study. The only way to invert prices, and have most functionality but not all, work properly is to use this option: Chart Settings: Invert Prices (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol Settings menu) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Hi, Thank you for your feedback ! Unfortunately the Invert Prices setting isn't what I try to achieve. This is Multiply Price by -1 that I would like to have compatible with the Trade DOM Price Scale column only (not the other columns as it would cause problems). The purpose of this is just to be able to watch correlated markets and reversed correlated markets with ease. For exemple, the ES and the VIX have an inverse correlation. If we can Multiply Price by -1 the VIX, the ES and VIX DOM will move in the same direction... which is way easier to read ! Of course reading 2 markets is easy, but when we watch 7-8 or more correlated markets together... it can be a source of confusion if some market have a negative correlation and some other have a positive correlation. For exemple : having 8 correlated DOMs moving in the same direction is easier to read than having 3 of the 8 reversed correlated and the 5 other correlated. I think this feature would greatly benefit all the DOM traders who use markets correlations, which is a huge edge nowadays. Would you consider adding this new feature to your To Do List ? Again, most of the time, only the Price Scale Column is used to watch correlation, so only this column has to work. The other market data columns can be hidden when using this feature. I understand it's a kind of half ass job but it's way better than nothing ! Best regards, |

We cannot provide any further help. There will be no features added in this regard. It is out of the question.
