This is great news. To confirm, does this mean I can set a horizontal line alert on my local side and have it trigger from the VPS even when my local instance is closed, loses internet, etc. Can these alerts pass in both direction client->server, server->cleint, depending on which instance the alert is set on?

No, there is a misunderstanding. It just means that any alert message added to the Alerts Log on a instance of Sierra Chart being used as a DTC server, will have those messages sent over the DTC server to any connected clients.

It may not really do what you are looking for. And also when the client is not connected to the server, any alert messages that were missed, will not be sent to the client.

So really it's just backwards from what I'm looking for. An alert will only go from server to client? I hope that eventually SC gets around to building out client to server alerts so we can safely know our alerts will still trigger even if our client instance is not running / loses internet. This is the only big feature that stops me from being able to fully use SC. I can't trust local/client alerts will activate on SC.

There are no plans at all for server-side alerts. Do not wait around for that because it will never come. Really it is next to a technical impossibility due the nature of the design of Sierra Chart because we work with many external services and there are market data rules on top of that.

Thank you, when I say 'server-side alerts', I do not mean storing alerts on some third party server requiring different datafeed permissions. I mean that an alert made on a client instance of SC connected to a DTC server can send the alert to the DTC SC instance (still using the same datafeed).

Much like when I have a 'live' SC client instance enter an order, it sends it to the DTC server instance in SIM trading mode to execute the order. That's what I'm talking about except it sends alerts not Sim orders.
