Hello,

Which FOREX Broker do you support that supports US clients?
Do you support GAIN Capital/FOREX.COM?

Thank you!

Will this be through another API, because Oanda is already supported through DTC?

Thank you,

Hi Zolie,

It's the Data and Trading Communications (DTC) Protocol.

https://www.dtcprotocol.org/

It was made by the creators of SC.

Hello BeardPower,

Thank you!!

Do you use DTC with Oanda for Sierra Chart to trade live?
I'm looking for a Forex broker, who's supported by SC and accepts US clients - since it's a total joke in the USA, there are only a couple options - Gain Capital (forex.com) and Oanda. I tried both before, i like Oanda better..... but in tbis case, i wpuld be glad to find ANY forex brokers in the US..... Offshores don't work anymore (like Traders Way, FXChoice, etc)

Thank you,

Zolie

No, I do not trade with Oanda.

There are some brokers, who accept US clients, but most of them are either MM, DD or unregulated brokers.
IIRC TD Ameritrade and Interactive Brokers are the only regulated brokers, which still do accept US clients.

It is direct integration. The DTC service you see for Oanda is listed but the service is not available and it is being replaced with a direct connection.

For the user wondering about Forex brokers in the US, here are all the decent options that I know of:

US based
--------
Oanda
Forex.com
Ameritrade (good spreads, slightly higher margin req. Their fills can sometimes be pretty bad)

Off Shore (generally good reviews and seem reputable)
---------
finpro trading
LMFX

Right now I dont think SierraChart supports spot forex trading through any broker (futures only). Hopefully Oanda integration will be completed soon. With Gain Capital's SC forex support gone, I'm kinda stuck myself. In the process of trying out finpro, manually entering and exiting trades through their platform, with SC for charting. They have MUCH better leverage, and incredible spreads if you have 25k for their VIP account.

Ah yes, but I don't think neither are an option for US based traders.

Okay, we do see that you did mention Forex brokers in the US. We think that the reason we probably overlooked that was because we see your IP address is in Asia.

If you have some kind of domicile outside of the US, you can certainly use brokers outside of the US and that should not be a problem.

Ah I'm actually just travelling right now, which explains my Asia IP haha. I wish I did! I keep thinking about ways to create an account with IB to get around the forex restrictions. Maybe create an offshore company, but not quite ready to go through all that right now. Its just a nightmare trying to trade Forex in the US. But I like it because it's less risk and more options than futures.

Guys I'm sincerely mourning the loss of Sierra Charts. My beloved platform. I just started with Oanda this week and I'm very depressed at my choices. Tradingview and Ninja can't hold a candle to Sierra Charts. I learned C++ for you guys! I'm still holding out hope I'll be able to trade with Oanda someday soon.

Thanks,

I believe someone at SC is working on it, but no solid commitments or ETA. Its been a while since I've asked for an update, perhaps there's some good news. I ended up building an MT4 bridge so solve my broker problems once and for all

recently I have tested the demo by the developer (ID: onnb) working on integrating Oanda to SC.
it is Oanda's data and API that is not up to standard, thus the project was dropped.

Yes this is one of the reasons and also just being that we cannot really handle any new services and put up with any new problems now.

I was looking into IB to trade forex recently. I can't meet their minimums. Will they still let me open an account? I'm desperate to hold on to Sierra Chart (the rest of the platforms are garbage!). I read something about using IB's execution with SC data feed. Is there a detailed guide to help set that up? Thanks,
