improving performance

I have noticed a big drop in the SC performance recently. As I moved away from TradeStation to SC I started encountering problems and many of these are caused by issues you refer to in the help section - too many open charts (too many visible), drawings, --etc.

I am wondering if I add a second instance (and maybe even a third) if that should improve the performance. I am always monitoring the performance of my CPU and memory and the system is doing well (it is a capable machine). I have a second copy from when I was trying AMP so I can remove this copy (as it is old with AMP setting and IQ deta feed) and install a new one

If I do that, will I have to pay extra fees for SC data feed? I no longer use IQ data and now use SC. I use IB TWS but I plan to trade on only one instance.

Yes but just also make sure you have a CPU with at least four cores and preferably more, and that you use solid-state drives and have one just dedicated for Sierra Chart.

Here are instructions to use additional copies of Sierra Chart:

I don’t have a hard drive dedicated to Sierra charts. I will try to add one - I have 8 cores.

- If I add another PC or laptop then it is an extra connection for 20?

- and also, as I am moving all my trading here I was thinking to get a dedicated VPS (like speedy trading VPS). I can still have two or three instances here with my market data and another one that works as a server for all orders with he extra 20 for the server, right?

Use a solid-state drive and not a hard drive. And you should have one dedicated just for Sierra Chart.

Yes, this would be the case.

Yes this will work.
