New Daily Bar Incorrect - Forex

When a new daily bar is created on EURUSD (for example) the bar is incorrect. It's showing the same daily range as the the previous daily bar even though the bar has only just been printed. I have to 'Delete All Data and Download' to get the correct bar to show on a daily chart. Not good. Can't trade with bad (cheap) data feeds.

At what time and time zone do you see the new bar?

Also refer to:
Historical Chart Prices: 12.4 - Origin of Data in a Historical Chart

Also the most you would have to do and not normally is just select Chart >> Reload and Recalculate. Not re-downloading all the data.

OK we understand the reason for the problem. This can be solved.

In Global Settings >> Symbol Settings, for one of the symbols on the Intraday tab do you have this option enabled?:
Start New Daily Bar at Session Start Time

I don't have the Start New Daily Bar at Session Start Time option enabled on any of the symbols under the Intraday tab. Do I need to enable that option?

A new daily bar has just been been printed (10pm GMT) on EURUSD. I have included a screenshot below. I tried the Reload and Recalculate and the Delete All Data And Download options but nothing happens.

No you do not need to enable that option.

The problem is the new bar is starting right before the time that the Daily High and Low are being reset. So just before they are being reset. So it does make sense that you see what you are.

We are working on a solution which should be out by morning or by Monday.

You may have still seen a problem in recent days and possibly even today depending upon what server you were connected to. But we have adjusted the session values reset time, and there should not be a problem going forward.

There was also a lot of other work related to this which has been completed and released.

This issue still seems to be happening in v1799 (64bit). Here's a USDX daily chart. The daily bar has just formed.

It is not totally clear what the issue you are trying to show us is, but we do realize that we have to control when a new daily bar is created and that needs to be at 5 PM US Eastern time. This has now been set up.

Follow the instructions here to update the Symbol Settings:

If you look at my first post above you can see the issue.

When a new daily bar is created the bar is incorrect. It's showing the same daily range as the the previous daily bar even though the bar has only just been printed.

I already have new daily bars set to be created at 5 PM Eastern time (10 PM GMT).

Your computer clock may not be set correctly because there is a reset of the values that occurs 20 seconds before that time. You can observe this through the Window >> Current Quote Window.

They appear to be in sync by the second. My computer clock is 2 hours behind because I'm in the UK.

I do have the global Time Zone set to Athens (+2 EET/+3EEST) as my broker is GMT +2. Could that be causing the issue?

I'm still experiencing this issue when a new day (bar) opens. The new (current) bar is corrupted. Looks like a bad data feed to me. Can you resolve this. I have to go back to other platforms (such as MT4, tradestation) because of your data feed.

Explain the problem you are currently having. We do not understand. There is no such thing as a corrupted bar. There is not a problem with the data feed.

The easiest thing to do is just post an image of the chart when you notice whatever issue you are having and then we will look:

Ok, will do. In the meantime you can see the image I posted above (post #11). Basically, most of the new daily bars look like that when a new bar is formed at 10pm GMT.

Here you go. This daily bar has just opened on USDX.

We have been unable to reproduce the issue and we think the problem relates to the time zone setting you have in the chart and/or the Global Symbol Settings. Set these charts to the New York Time Zone as explained here:
Time Zone Setting: Using Different Time Zone in Individual Charts

Also, we did make a small change in the program related to the timing of starting up a new Daily chart bar. So update to the current version:
Software Download: Fast Update

And do not alter the Global Symbol Settings for these symbols you are having a problem with related to the session times. If you do, this will cause the problem.

Also we do not see what you do in the chart image. This is what we see:

Thanks for above. It worked.

I still have a problem 'with snap to high or low' though, it doesn't do it properly.
Since the update it is a bit closer but not quite there.

cheers
