Using two spreadsheets per chart

I am considering using two spreadsheets on a chart. So that there is no conflict between entry/exit signals on each chart, is there a unique identifier on each spreadsheet that I can reference?

More specifically:

Problem: Because an entry entered via one spreadsheet appears on all other spreadsheets, I need a way to make sure my exits coordinate with the corresponding buy signals.

can I trouble you for an update here? Is there a way to "lock in" which spreadsheet provided the buy signal so I can then associate that buy signal with the proper exit signal?

I assume both charts are using the same symbol.
This is not possible between two uniquely-named spreadsheets.

It is possible between sheets of a same-named spreadsheet, but only if you are entering with a limit or stop, and it is not straightforward.
J90 remains unique between sheets, but J42 does not, so you'll have to compare the two cells of both sheets.

If you want to use market orders, use no offset for the limit or stop entry price, and J90 will be the same as J42 on the sheet that entered.
It's a goofy workaround at best, and the utilization can get complicated.

This makes a lot of sense. I will implement and see what occurs. Ideally, column J would contain a unique identifier such as the following: "last entry spreadsheet: #2". Or something of that nature.

Perhaps such an entry could be added to the development pipeline for Sierra Charts.

Not totally sure what you are looking for here. Are you talking about a trade entry? We could provide a particular chart number that it originated from. But it is not spreadsheet specific.

Appreciate the response. I'm not looking for the chart number; rather, I'm looking for the spreadsheet number.

Here's why this is important:

I run multiple different algos on certain charts. Some of those algos are time specific (short vs. long term), some are condition specific (trend vs. oscillating markets). At times, an order on a long-term algo may conflict with an order on a short term algo. When this occurs, the spreadsheet executes the order and flattens the trade. Instead, I would prefer to "associate" each buy order with a corresponding buy exit order. In this way, I'd be able to be both long and short based on different speculation horizons.

We have not been able to spend any time on this and we really recommend using ACSIL for the automated trading system instead of Spreadsheets because you can specify a Text Tag with every order and use that for identification of the order. Assuming you can find a way to make that be helpful though.
