Renko Bars - differ in day opening price depending on tick size

Recently, certain products seem susceptible to opening price discrepancies for day session based on tick size in Renko charts. In particular, noted in YM and RTY futures contracts.

Attached is a 7 panel comparison of the past few days in the YM futures contract.

Renko charts include:
3T, 4T, 5T, 6T, 7T, 8T.

OHLC chart include:
5 minute (for reference of the same period).

Volume profile is used to help reference the day divisions better comparing the charts. Also a set of yellow arrows denote the 2017-12-29 opening range, and blue arrows denote 2018-01-03 opening range on several of the charts for quick reference.

When using full session (evening + day) I have not found this to be an issue, typically only when using day session only.

What I'm seeing is sometimes the prior day close is connected (gap filled) to the current day open price, even though no gap fill is selected in the chart settings. Sometimes going from a 5t to 4t, or even # Renko tick size to an odd # will cause the gap to fill incorrectly (or correctly) depending on the particular day.

We do not understand this and you have made this way too complicated and you have overwhelmed the amount of information provided.

It is not something we would provide support for.

You need to ask one simple question, and provide one chart according to the specifications here:

But we think, this relates to the fact that when there is a reversal, the gap is still filled in as documented here:
Renko Bar Charts: Filling of Price Gaps with Renko Bars

This is going to cause some inconsistencies at that point with different Renko Bar Size settings.

We still need to support showing the gap at a point of reversal. But there are some technical complications with that.

We think we know what you are showing but you are far overdoing it in presentation. 2 charts following our specifications would have been enough.

We are having a quick look at this now.

There does appear to be a problem here. We are looking into it.

Thank you. My apologies for the original volume of detail. The primary point of the presentation image was to display irregularities (filling a gap or not filling) of the opening Renko bar at new session start, simply by changing tick size.

This occurs even though "New Bar at Session Start" is checked, and "Gap Fill = None" in the main chart settings tab.

We have it fixed. It was a very small detail causing the problem.

We are putting out a new release now.
