[User Discussion] - Detect (using ACSIL) when price action has crossed ACSIL-drawn r
|MattR - Posts: 1|
I am trying to add logic to my indicator to detect when price action has moved through an extended rectangle drawing. When that occurs, I'd like to modify the rectangle so that it ends right there because it is no longer valid once it has been crossed.
I have created several rectangle indicators on my chart with ACSIL. Is it possible to detect when the price action crosses over either the upper- or lower-boundary of a rectangle? I tried drawing it as a user-drawn drawing and a non-user-drawn drawing. Neither seems to be documented how to detect when the price action crosses the drawing.
Is it possible to detect that the current (or prior) bar has crossed the edge of a rectangle drawing? If so, how do I go about this?

If these rectangles are drawn by studies you have access to the structure as long as you have kept track of your IDs. If you provide a bit more details I might be able to help you move it forward a bit.
