My intraday futures charts aren’t displaying the daily pivots correct. I should have a recalc each day at 5pm.
Its currently only recalc’ing every 2 days…any idea’s ?

I am using a ref to the daily ym chart = yes and using my ym daily chart to supply the data.

Thanks

We really do not recommend using a historical Daily Chart for the Pivot Points study to reference.

Refer to:

Pivot Points are not Accurate or are Different

And refer to:

but in the doc https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/helpdetails65.html, it states:
When you require accurate Daily Pivot Points, use the Pivot Points-Daily study and have it reference a Historical Daily chart that has true Historical Daily data using Daily Open, High, Low, Close values from the exchange the symbol trades on

so we should reference a Historical Daily chart right?

then, my question is... in the Historical Daily chart, i see there are no gaps in the bars.

Doesn't that mean the OHLC are including evening session, not only OHLC of RTH?

using evening session OHLC vs RTH OHLC will affect the daily pivots greatly

Refer to help topic 12 about this:

For accuracy yes, the historical daily chart, is going to provide the best reference but from a technical implementation it potentially can complicate the use of the Pivot Points study

In general it should not but if users are bringing us technical issues we are going to recommend not to do that. That is the basic answer.
