Hello Team,
I have the identical request which was posted by Max August 1, 2013 (post 395)
Heikin Ashi: hollow green and red bars when going up solid green and red bars when going down.
I believe that there is a charge for this enhancement which I am willing to pay.
Thank you,
Madra

"going up" and "going down" is going to have to be defined

Hello Trade2Day1
Here is a youtube video of what I want. I hope you can open it. Heikin Ashi by Manny Backus July 2012
www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFcpTVu-F8U‎
1. Hollow candle sticks which indicate an uptrend (green/red)
2. Filled candle sticks which indicate a down trend(green/red)
Max posted a similar request on August 1, 2013.(post 395) He also attached a chart which gives an example of what is required. He was able to achieve what he wanted with the green candle sticks but not with the red.
Hope this is enough information.
Thank you,
Madra

Brilliant, Trade2day1, Thank you ,just what I wanted
Please excuse my lack of software skills but would you mind going through the process of how I would download this into my Sierra Charts. I assume that this is a study. Would I need to have Heikin Ashi on my chart for a particular instrument and make modifications at that point?
Your help is greatly appreciated

lol i was just making sure that is what you wanted before sending it through

go to Global Settings > General Settings and look at "Data Files Folder:" and put the attached file into that folder and it will be in your study collections

Still in the dark! Trader2Day1
I have Madra.StdyCollect in Global settings > General Settings (files to open on startup)
Went to Studies Available: It is not in the list.
I put Madra.StdyCollect in Save Studies As Study Collection save all
Opened one of my Charts removed Heikin Ashi from Studies to Graph
Went to Analysis > Madra.StdyCollect
The Chart appeared But it did not have the hollow bars that you showed in your post
Trade2Day1 - I am probably missing a step in the process
Hope your patience is not running out

here, i made a chartbook so you wont have to do anything but change the colors as you like them. the hollow ones are nothing more than the body being the same color as the background. based on the picture you showed me it doesnt look like you applied the study collection i gave you

put this in your data folder and open the chart book

Getting somewhere!

Working perfectly on this futures chart.
Madra.cht is in Sierra data folder and I placed in in General Settings as well.
It does not show in the File that holds my other charts which I can click to open. I exited and reopened and the Futures chart was good but still no sign of Madra.cht

if you got it working on a chart all you have to do is save the study collection and use it on whatever chart in whatever chartbook you want to

Sorry, still not working even when I do as you suggest.I did save study collection under Save Studies As Study Collection with a name
I do not understand why Madra.cht which is in Sierra data folder with all other charts. Does not show up in the File that contains all my other charts.
You are one with incredible patience
Thank you

lol dont worry about it.. i will just walk you through how to do it

1) add heikin-ashi study and select "display as main price graph" on the left column.. set the colors as you please. for hollow up bars, color the row labeled High the same as your chart's background
2) add color bar based on alert condition study and put this into the alert tab =AND(C<C[-1],C>O) what this does is when a heikin-ashi candle closes below the previous candle but is still an up candle, it colors the outline your selected color.. also set the draw style to "color bar hollow"
3) add another color bar based on alert condition and put this into the alert tab =AND(C>C[-1],C<O) when the bar closes above the previous bar but is still a down close this will color the bar your selected color. leave the draw style as "color bar"
