Volume control on Audio Alerts?

Please advise how to turn down the volume on the audio alerts. I listen to Bloomberg through the same computer speakers I have Sierra audio alerts set up on. The Sierra generated alerts are extremely loud. Is it it possible to regulate the volume? Controlling the volume from the speaker mutes the news feed?
