I'm using this study and having an issue. Basically I'm using it to set a target for me based on a study. This works great. The problem I have is that if I enter a position for say 2 contracts I want the study to set a target for 1 contract and then I want to trail my stop using a different TMS study for the remaining contract. To do this I set the 2nd target very far away so that it won't get hit and I'll be able to exit the 2nd position with the TMS trailing stop.

It looks like I can only use 1 TMS study at a time. Can I use one for targets and another one for stops simultaneously?

Once my first target is hit the 2nd target immediately moves to where the first target was and gets hit. I only want the study to work on the first target only. How can I accomplish this? Do I have to use separate charts? Please advise. Thanks.

Yes, just make sure one is set to control Stops and the other one Targets. This is through the Order Types to Manage Input.

How can I accomplish this?
You cannot.

Then it sounds like it would be a very simple feature to add that many users would appreciate. Can you add a setting on the TMS study to auto disable after a certain number of targets are hit? In my example I would want the study to disable after 1 target was hit. It doesn't make sense that every time a target is hit any outstanding target orders immediately get moved to the same spot and immediately get triggered as well.

You need to hire a programmer to do this. We cannot be doing everything. Sierra Chart is more than capable of accomplishing what you need. You cannot be relying upon us for all of these details. Take care of this yourself.

Also what you are asking about in post #3 is much more easily said than done.

You're missing the point. I'm doing you a favor by pointing this out. This applies to stops too. Not everyone uses 1 target and 1 stop. If someone is using 2 stops what good is it to have the 2nd stop moved up and hit once the first one is triggered? You should be thanking me. You're welcome in advance.

Refer to the documentation here:
How to Build an Advanced Custom Study from Source Code

Essentially what you are saying is the study is not suitable in these particular cases where there is more than one Target or Stop.

If Sierra Chart does not meet your requirements, then use another program. But it can meet your requirements, with custom programming.

We should have marked this as a User Discussion and never responded. This is now marked as a User Discussion.

To understand why we would not thank you, first of all it would be very difficult to implement this functionality with the study, and if we did, it will absolutely make the study less reliable and result in a large number of support requests. There is simply nothing to thank you for whatsoever. This is only a burdensome and detrimental request.
